The Stare of Peaches

This staring little kitty is Peaches. He is a few years older and a little less intense these days. This painting was done in acrylics on a Windsor & Newton canvas board, 3"x5".

One thing I don't like about painting in the summer is having a fan on, you need it to keep cool but it dries out the paint so fast.

I have a colored pencil ACEO to finish up today of a rat and a piece of fruit. For those who may not know, an ACEO is a piece of art that is 2.5"x3.5" (yes, that's inches), which is the size of a standard deck of cards, and is the only hard and fast rule, ACEOs can be any medium and some are even 3D.

Thanks for looking, enjoy your day!

A Lattice Cat

This is my cat Stripey peeking out from a lattice fence. Over the years I've done a lot of cats and some rats peeking out of lattice. I think of them as my 'lattice cats' so this one I aptly named 'The Lattice Cat'. It is a 6"x4" acrylic painting on Windsor & Newton canvas board.

This is my latest drawing, of my cat Fluffy when she was a kitten (can you see where she got her name?). I love the way the sun illuminated her fur and made her look like a little Fuzzball. The size is 5 inch x 5 inch on Stonehenge paper, done in colored pencils.

At the moment I am also working on another cat and rat ACEO and a 5 inch x 3 inch acrylic painting of a cat. If all goes well I will have them both finished today.

Another Friday already

Good morning! Another week is almost over, they just fly by.

Today I am posting my newest ACEO of Bob the cat and a rat taking a nap. Bob is at my shop and is the friendliest cat ever. He just loves everyone. He's a big old orange tabby and has to have his nose in everything.

I am hoping to get more art done today so I can list it Sunday night on eBay.

My nephew is going to Mali with the Peace Corps for 27 months and I was telling him I will have to do some ACEOs based on his adventures, or at least my idea of what his adventures would be. Hopefully he will have internet access once in a while so I will have actual stories from him. Already some ideas are rolling around in my brain based on what his job will be.
